

Muscat: Sayyid Badr al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister, received his Indian counterpart, Dr. S Jaishankar, in Muscat on Friday.
The two ministers exchanged views on several current regional and international developments, including the situation regarding shipping and maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and its implications for international trade, energy supplies, and supply chains.
The meeting addressed the historical relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of India and discussed ways to enhance the strategic partnership between the two friendly countries, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, energy, logistics, and modern technologies.
They discussed strengthening cooperation between companies in both countries and encouraging high-quality partnerships and reciprocal investments that serve common interests and capitalize on promising economic opportunities.
Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and consultation regarding these developments, and supporting efforts aimed at strengthening understanding and cooperation with various parties, and mitigating the repercussions of the current situation, in accordance with the provisions of international law and with due regard for the interests of the countries of the region.
